Our article is about Leyletul Qadr which we will celebrate tonight. Leyletul Qadr is the night which The Holy Quran started being set down from the sky to our prophet Hz. Muhammad .

Allah (swt) says in The Holy Quran in Suret-ul Qadr the following: “We have indeed sent it (the Quran) down on the Night of Qadr. What would inform you of the Laylatul Qadr! Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months. On that night Angels and the Ruh comes down by Allah’s permission with all decrees and for every matter. That night is peace until the appearance of dawn.” (Al-Qadr)

To be able to gain and make the most from this night we must pray Navafil prayers, recite the Quran, repent from our sins and give sadaqa.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever prays during the night of Qadr with faith and hoping for its reward will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim recorded from Abu Huraira).

Our prophet Muhammad  says in a hadith-i shareef the following about the merits of celebrating Leyletul Qadr with ibadaat: “When its the night of Qadr, Allah (swt) orders Jebrail (as) to descent to earth. Jebrail (as) sets down to earth with angels and a flag and plants the flag on Ka’ba Muazzamah as an order from Allah c.c.

Jebrail (as) has six hundred wings. He never opens two of these particular wings except in Leyletul Qadr. These two wings cover the west and the east. Then he orders to the angels with him: “Go and say Salaam to those that pray from the ummah of Muhammed sav. recite Allah (swt) make Musafaha with them and say Ameen to their du’as”. Angels disperse to the earth and visit the ones from Ummati Muhammed that are awake and praying. They say Salaam to them, make musafaha with them and say Ameen to their du’as. When the dawn rise Jebrail (as) orders the angels to get together. Angels ask how Allah treated Ummati Muhammad. Jebrail (as) answers: “Allahu Teala treated them with his Rahmah, except for these four groups. The ones that drink alcohol continuously, the disobedient to his parents, those that abandon visiting their relatives meanly Silatur-rahim and those who hate and have grudge towards his Muslim brothers for more than three days”.

On this great night it’s of great benefit to perform Salat-Ul-Tasbih, and make the due for Leyletul Qadr:

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka ‘affuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni’ ‘

O Allah You are The One Who forgives greatly, and loves to forgive, so forgive me. (Tirmidhi)

Our prophet Muhammad  said “Whoever becomes awake and makes his most in Leyletul Qadr by believing and expecting its sawaab only from Allah (cc), his previous sins are forgiven.” (Bukhari)

A humble request that we remember each other in our prayers and especially those we do not forget the oppressed , the suffering & our Bothers and Sisters in PALESTINE.
